The date today is not 29/12/11, but we write on this blog as an advance. Today, we will be seeing Dr. Zaidi and our lovely classmates with our BLOG that we are showing. Not forgotten, our database assignment. Already pass up before we come to class.

SIXTEENTH WEEK- 19-26/12/11

These days, we got no IST class but, we using this times to design more blog, updating it, finding for widget, attaching more photos of us together, and also doing other subject's assignment. Full of stress ma actually.

Not forgotten to wish Merry Christmas to our friends...

FOURTEENTH WEEK- 15/12/11

Today, it was really an heart attack day because we get back our test paper. Haha ... Our heart is beating so fast, and finally when we saw our marks, we really know Dr. Zaidi is so kind. Our team me mbers, all passed with flying colors. Congrats to other friends as well.

We learned chapter 12 (Database). In our term we call it Microsoft Access. :-P.
Actually we have lerned about Microsoft Access in diploma time, but forgotten already. So, Dr. Zaidi gave us an assignment on this chapter. Dr. Zaidi ask us to download Access tutorial 2007 mostly. He also mentioned that if we go youtube and write Microsoft Access 2007 Tutorial, we can get video about it. Since we are a very good student, we followed Dr. Zaidi's advice.

Dr. Zaidi also mentioned that after this, the class will only be on the date of 29th December 2011, wherewe will be presenting our BLOG and our database assignment.

FOURTEENTH WEEK- 12/12/11

Today, it was really an interesting day! The story comes like this, Farhana and Janani, they come in one car. Meanwhile, Mitra, Yoke Fun and Ain came in another car. But, Farhana and Janani reached N28, and then only they got message that the class was cancel! Haha.......then , immediately we message the another car gals. O......sempat! They all went to McD for lunch since he class was cancel. Haha.......suddenly I remember McD slogan: I'm lovin it ~

THIRTEENTH WEEK- 8/12/11

Today we learned 2 chapter altogether. Phew...!
those chapters were Chapter 10 that is Privacy and Security and Chapter 11 Information Systems.

Chapter 10 is about giving us an awareness about morale in computer usage. There were guidelines that should be followed. There are four main ethical dilemmas that we should know about. It is privacy, accuracy, property and access.

Meanwhile in Chapter 11, that is about Information System. First we learned about the flows of information in an organization, comprising top level, middle level and also supervisors. Next is about Information systems flow in an organization.

THIRTEENTH WEEK- 5/12/11

Today, Dr Zaidi shared a lot of interesting knowledge with us! Normally, we as an accountancy student rarely to pay attention to this kind of facts. So, today because of Dr Zaidi we only learnt something out of our field.

What we learnt today was American Megatrends, Parkinsow's Law, Speed Test, ISDN and so on!

Well, this was quite interesting....Only some of the parts we were quite confused >.<

Haha.....Something out of our field, so need some time to absorb....

TWELFTH WEEK- 1/12/11

Oh~~Today finally we get our first individual assignment! Our task is to do four years planning in UTM degree life. Well.......It seems like our luck is quite good because we only spend three years degree life in UTM Skudai!

We have to set our targeted grades, and recorded all our achieved grades to each subject in every semester. At last, we can see our CPA and also CGPA to graduate!

It seems easy right? Only use the function can automatically predict our result in each semester! This is the first time we complete the prediction of results for so many years! From this assignment, we set a mission to graduate with first class honor together. ^^

TWELFTH WEEK- 28/11/11

Today is Public Holiday because our muslim friends celebrating Awal Muharram.

So, there is no class on Public Holiday....

This week we did not have any IST classes....

Today, our class is from 8 to 10pm because we are replacing the one hour class from 10th November... The special learning in our class today is we learn how to dismantle and assemble back the central processing unit (CPU) parts that were taught by En. Azmi. Starting from 4th November 2011 till 9th November 2011, we have our

MID-SEM BREAK....

Four of our team members went back to hometown ready, only one left.... Haha

EIGHTH WEEK-3/11/11

Ooooo....... Finally ! Today we just sat for our test 1 ! This was the second subject's test in this semester. As Dr Zaidi promised us, we only had four chapters- programming & language, basic application software, specialized application software, and system software.

This paper comprise of 3 section. Section A - true or false; Section B- multiple choice; Section C- structured question

Basically, we felt this paper is not as tough as we thought before. After we finished this paper, we still got a bit confidence of score it ! Hopefully all my dear course mates can score with flying colour in this test 1 ^^

Once we finished our test, Farhana said to Janani " I rasa I dah buat definition I sendiri la untuk Complier and intreperter". Janani replied "Die !"
huhu...

Mitra was sleeping after finished early. No other work to do .. sleep .. sleep.. sleep .. sleep

Here, our group want to share something with everyone. No matter what obstacles you face in your life, you must believe YOU CAN DO IT . Don't easily give up because of one failure !

EIGHTH WEEK- 31/10/11

Input vs Output

How much do you know about input and output?

I believe that everyone are very familiar with these because our daily life is closely linked with technology. Nowadays, almost every student has at least one computer or laptop. Besides, majority of peoples are using touch screen phone or digital camera.

In a simple word, input devices translate the data into a form that system unit can process. Examples are keyboard, scanner, digital camera, pointing device (joystick).

In contrast, output devices process the data or information. Examples are monitor, printer, speakers and iPod.

In an overall, almost all the technology products we use in daily life are a part of input or output.

SEVENTH WEEK- 27/10/11

Yes, today we proceed to the chapter of secondary storage! Please don't be confusing, because primary storage is different with secondary storage.

For a quick understanding, the significant difference here is in term of storage. Secondary storage can store information permanently and it is non-volatile. In contrast, primary storage only available can keep information temporary and it is volatile. Example is RAM.

Basically, our daily life always connected with secondary storage. Examples like DVDs, CDs, blue-ray disc, internal hard disk, external hard disk and so on.

SEVENTH WEEK- 24/10/11

System unit ≠ CPU

Normally, we always heard people called the system unit as CPU. However, it is a serious mistake! System unit and CPU are two different computer components.

Today, we are learning the system unit. We learn the total six types of system units and also the components inside system unit theoretically. During this moment, we have a mindset to learn in a creative way. How good is it if we can learn by using the real system unit! At least we can explore through practical and it will be more excited than merely learning theory.

SIXTH WEEK- 20/10/11

Today we learn a new chapter- System Software - Chapter 5. Basically, it is not that really tough for us. We just revise back what we have learned indirectly from the past experience.

Overall, Chapter 5 explains on the System software which works with end users, application programs, and computer hardware to handle many details relating to computer operations which consist of operating systems, utilities, device drivers and language translators. Meanwhile, operating systems is software environments, platforms that help to handle technical details which have three categories of operating system and different types of operating system.

To effectively use computers, competent end usersneed to understand the functionality of system software.

SIXTH WEEK- 17/10/11

Programming and Languages! Chapter 14... This is the topic we learn today. Who say programming only can be learn by computer science student? Now, it is our turn as an accounting student to explore it ~

Eventually, this is an interesting topic for us! Now, we have basis knowledge of what is actually programming. The basic six procedures are essential key in programming:

a) Program Specification

b) Program Design

c) Program Code

d) Program Test

e) Program Documentation

f) Program Maintenance

Actually, our life is closely related with programming. The Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic we always get used in daily life actually is programming language!

FIRST QUIZ- FIFTH WEEK 13/10/11

So, finally, we done our real first quiz on 13/10/2011 at N28, FSKSM. Then, immediately we know the result. Not bad. Discussion have been made... There is more new knowledge about IST basics, we gain.. After the discussion, we know where is our mistakes in the questions... Hope will perform better in next quiz, test and final exam.... For now, congrats to my team members and friends.....

FIFTH WEEK - 10/10/11

Actually, today we went to FSKSM to do our quiz but, unfortunately, there also got some technical problem. So, cancel again. But, we have divide into group and have created a group of 5 people... After that, we proceed on learning.

Fourth Week- 6/10/11

Today, we have our First Quiz.... But, we have two attempts... Haha
Reason: Because of technical problem... Unfortunatelty, two attempts also can't.

FIFTH WEEK - 3/10/11

Today, we learn Chapter 3,

Basic Application Software, which explains the basic software that we need most in our computer which is the System Software and Application Software. System Software focuses on handling technical details, meanwhile, application software focuses on completing specific tasks or application. Application Software consist word processors, spreadsheet, database management systems, presentation graphics, software suites and also integrated packages.

We think we all know what is Internet and web... But, we just know in the terms as an normal user but there are some important terms that we should understand when using Internet and Web.

THIRD WEEK - 26.9.2011

Today is our first class for IST. Finally, ade juga lecturer yang pity on us and willing to teach us... haha
The kind lecturer is Dr. Mohd Zaidi.
But, when think back, for this sem almost 4 over 6 subject's lecturer is man... Huhu...


First day of class, we asked to create a google email account for each of us for convenience in studying this subject. All those learning material will be uploaded or share in gmail.


But, too sad, my group members Farhana, Ain and Mitra failed to setup.
