OVERALL REFLECTIONS ON IST
First of all, thanks to Dr. Zaidi because providing us with much knowledge in using computers mainly. There are many new things that we now only learn in this class. This is really an interesting subject to learn. For those people who are not in IT background would easily understand this subject due to the basic term used by Dr. Zaidi and also the learning materials that we used which included surface of the chapter that have been covered.
So far, from this subject, at least we, as accounting student able to describe basic terms such as Information system, Internet, Web, Electronic Commerce, Basic Application, Specialized Application, System Software, System Unit, Input and Output, Secondary Storage, Communications and Network, Privacy and Security in term of IT, Database System Analysis and Design etc. However, the best part is we have learn practically the components in system unit and how to install all these components.
As overall, we conclude that to be an IT competent end user, no matter in what position they are, they must update themselves with the changes or development in nowadays technology trend.
For example, our lecturer, Dr. Zaidi. He is a technologies person. Every updates about technology, he will know and explore on it. Then who said Generation X is old dated. It does not true at all because they are more experience people than Generation X because they are affected the most by technology changes.
